The 7 Best Things to Do in Whistler this Fall

So it’s official. The kids are back at school, the leaves have started to change colour, and the Whistler crowds have slowly began to die down. While fall brings a welcomed laid-back pace, a whole lot of rain, and the first signs of snowfall, it also brings plenty of new activities for us to enjoy. Whistler is hosting a range of unique festivals and activities this fall, so if you’re planning a visit, here’s what’s not to miss.

#1 Hiking and biking

While the change from sunny evenings to crisp temperatures and heavy rainfall seemed to happen overnight, it’s not quite winter season yet. This means that we still get plenty of time to enjoy our favourite hiking trails and our amazing bike park – minus the crowds or the sweat!

#2 Cornucopia

This is one of our favourite fall indulgences. From November 8th-18th, discover the best food and drink that BC (and the world!) has to offer at this amazing festival. Check out an exciting and diverse program of wine tastings, delicious dinners – and even silent discos – spread out over 10 days.

#3 Forged Axe Throwing

When we think of fall we picture crisp, golden autumn leaves, pumpkins on doorsteps, and a whole lot of plaid. Dig out your best flannel shirt and head down to Function Junction to throw axes into stumps and targets, and get rid of any stress brought by the new academic year.

#4 ZipTrek tour

Face your fears and feel the adrenaline on the longest zipline in Canada and the USA. Fall is the perfect time to glide down a line over stunning scenery and alpine trees. Plus, you can catch some impressive GoPro footage in the process.

#5 Scandinave Spa

Fancy something a little more relaxing? Try the Scandinave Spa for the ultimate bath experience with the best views. Overlooking a stunning mountainous backdrop, the Scandinave Spa offers a variety of steam baths, Finnish saunas, solariums, Nordic waterfalls and much more. This peaceful haven is the perfect way to relax in the crisp autumn air.

#6 Whistler Blackcomb Turkey Sale

Ahh, we all love a bargain. From October 5th-8th get all the winter clothes and ski gear you need for the upcoming season, right outside the Blackcomb Day Lodge. Nearly everyone in the village gets involve with swaps, sales and trades, so it’s the perfect opportunity to score some huge pre-season savings.

#7 Whistler 50 Relay & Ultra

This annual 80km race returns on October 13th. Open to relay teams of 8.4 or 2 members, and with fantastic pre-race socials and post-race parties, this event is not one to be missed. Plus, the course goes around Whistler village and the valley trail system, meaning it’s easy for everyone to come out and show their support.

If you are in need of some family-friendly accommodation for Whistler 50 or for any of the other amazing events going on this fall, Whiski Jack would be more than happy to help. We are offering 25% off your stay during many of this season’s biggest events, including Cornucopia and the Whistler 50 Relay Race. Please don’t hesitate to get in contact, or take a look at our website to find out more about these deals.
