Coffee Lovers Guide to Whistler

coffee lovers guide to whistler

We can’t think of a better pairing than crisp mountain mornings in Whistler, paired with a delicious cup of coffee. A rich espresso or a long black coffee is the preferred way for most to start their day of adventure in our beautiful mountain town. Whether you’re a coffee lover who revels in the atmosphere of a coffee shop or you prefer to grab and go, we pulled together the ultimate coffee lovers guide to whistler.

Mount Currie Coffee Company

Mount Currie Coffee Company (MCCC) originates from the nearby village of Pemberton, just a short drive north of Whistler. Fortunately, this homegrown coffee shop has a location in Whistler Village, just outside of Marketplace. MCCC, as the locals call it, prides itself on serving up the best for coffee aficionados. They source their beans from coffee from roasters who share their belief in sustainable coffee-growing practices. Mount Currie Coffee Company in Whistler has a lively atmosphere, delicious snacks & pastries, as well as local artists donning the walls with mountain-culture inspired paintings. You’ll not only love the delectable coffee but the authentic mountain vibe from the baristas and the atmosphere.

BReD

BReD, located in Creekside near our Lake Placid accommodations, is truly a unique spot for those who love the art of coffee and baking. BReD is a 100% vegan and organic sourdough bakery, serving up the most mouth-watering loaves, as well as coffee you can feel good about. Each coffee sold at BReD means a tree planted through Trees for the Future. BReD also aims to source as locally as possible for their ingredients, meaning you’ll always be delighted by the fresh and seasonally relevant baked goods. This is truly a local hangout, coffee shop and bakery that you’ll not only love but will feel good about supporting.

Lift Coffee

Lift Coffee is a locally owned, Whistler favourite that’s a common meeting spot for locals year-round. Conveniently situated at the base of Whistler Gondola, it’s the ideal spot to grab a coffee before or after ski or bike laps. Lift’s heated patio will also keep you nice and toasty during the Fall & Winter while you sip on a latte with your adventure buddies. Not only is their coffee delightful, but it’s one of our favourite spots for a grab-and-go sandwich before heading up the ski hill! If you’re more inclined to sit and savour your coffee & snack, the ample seating is great for larger groups.

The Bunker

The Bunker Whistler is a locally owned coffee house, tucked away near Nester’s Market Whistler. Their delicious coffee, pastries & sandwiches are a favourite for those who live in Whistler. The small coffee house is on the ground floor in the Nester’s shopping centre, and quite literally resembles a tiny bunker. This is the perfect spot to grab and go, or for a coffee date with a friend. You can either drive to Nester’s from the main village, or skip the car and take bus number 31 from Whistler Village and hop off at the Nester’s Mall stop. The rich coffee and homemade pastries are worth the detour!
