Where is Village North?
To put it simply, from a bird’s eye view, Village North is the section of the Village directly north of Village Gate Boulevard. It encompasses Marketplace & Olympic Plaza, along with numerous shopping and dining options. Village North is conveniently located equidistant to the Main Village and the Upper Village, making it a prime location for those who want the easy option of heading up either Whistler or Blackcomb Mountain.
Where to Stay
While there are several accommodation options available in Village North, we highly recommend staying at one of our two premier properties: Northstar at Stoney Creek or Tyndall Stone Lodge, located within a few minutes walk from each other.
Northstar at Stoney Creek is an ideal resort with comfortable and well-appointed accommodations, located directly across from restaurants, groceries and a liquor store at Marketplace Shopping Centre. Northstar offers one and two-bedroom condos, all with a newly renovated and fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, new smart TV, 5-star comfort beds, and a washing machine and dryer. Two-bedroom units additionally offer two renovated bathrooms and their own private Weber BBQ. These freshly updated townhomes with separate entrances make for the ultimate home away from home! Possibly our favourite feature of Northstar at Stoney Creek is the best year-round outdoor heated pool and hot tub in Whistler Village – perfect for relaxing after a long day of play. There’s also free onsite underground parking, which is a rare luxury in Whistler. You won’t regret choosing Northstar for your romantic getaway or family vacation.
If you need a bit more space, we can’t recommend the Tyndall Stone Lodge enough! This property is made up of two-bedroom and two-bedroom plus loft condos, each with two bathrooms. You’ll love the newly renovated, fully-equipped kitchen for cooking breakfast or dinner with the entire family. After dinner, take a dip in the newly renovated year-round outdoor heated pool or hot tub. The renovations extend to bathrooms, flooring and living room furniture (and more to come in 2024). The resort overlooks the Olympic Village, so you’re right in the heart of Village North and within walking distance to world-class shops, restaurants and nightlife. Ideal for watching the Summer Concert Series, or the many events such as the Whistler Beer Festival and the Whistler 50 Relay & Ultra. Winter the Plaza is transformed into an indoor/outdoor skating rink.
Why Stay in Village North?
Village North is ideal for couples, families, and smaller groups who want to be close to all the action and activity of Whistler Village, without the potential extra cost or added village noise that comes with staying directly at the base of the ski hill. You’ll be within walking distance to both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, but without being in the hustle and bustle of the lift lines & crowds. Village North has direct access to the grocery store, pharmacy and liquor store, making it easy to stock up on essentials for your home away from home! Don’t feel like cooking? Just step out your door, hit the Stroll, and pick from any number of local restaurants and pubs. Our favourite local hangout and pub is Stinky’s on the Stoll, conveniently located in Village North.
Getting to and from Village North
The beauty of staying in Village North is the ease of access to everything, by foot or free shuttle! As we mentioned earlier, you can easily walk to the base of either Blackcomb or Whistler Mountain from Village North. Just step out onto the Village Stroll, and start making your way to snag epic turns on the ski hill! If you’d rather not walk in ski gear or out in the weather, just hop on the free Marketplace Shuttle, and you’ll get dropped off right at the base of Whistler or Blackcomb Mountains.
