Holiday Magic In Whistler

What better present to receive this holiday season than of 158cm snow in the last 7 days? Whistler village is looking like a postcard. Magical lights are illuminating the village and snow is covering not only the mountains but the village too. There’s a lot happening around Whistler this holiday season. Here’s your guide to the best activities on and off the mountain.

Ski Hard:

That’s right – the snow has arrived! Fresh power has been delivered  – leaving a base of 226cm and 31cm forecast in the next 7 days. A holiday treat you could only wish for, powder is filling runs all across Whistler and Blackcomb.

And that’s not all- more is now open. With lifts including Harmony 6 Express, Glacier Express and the new Blackcomb Gondola – there’s plenty to keep you powder warriors occupied for the whole holiday period. You don’t have to go far to find fresh tracks.

Snow In The Village:

The holidays couldn’t be more complete without snow in the village. Create your perfect picture postcard scene. There are plenty of photo opportunities in this mountain town. A picture by the Olympic rings while snow is falling around you is enough to make all your friends jealous.

What’s On?

Family Après:

Something for all the family to enjoy, head down to Family Après. This free event includes face painting, hula hooping, and characters in costume. Plenty of family fun to be had, there are also snacks and games to keep the whole family entertained.

Ice Skating:

What better way to feel festive than heading down to the Olympic plaza and putting your skates on. Feel the magic of Whistler whilst ice skating to music, as snow is falling all around you. The mountains create the perfect setting for your magical holiday scene. Admission is free with skate hire from $6.

New Year’s Eve:

Whistler is the perfect place to bring in the New Year. There are plenty of activities for all ages to enjoy. Keep the little ones entertained with Whistler Holiday Experience – an indoor fun zone, with bouncy castles, table games, craft activities and more.

Head to the Olympic Plaza at 11.30pm to watch a special edition Fire and Ice show. Whistler Blackcomb ski school instructors hit the big air jumps and fly throw burning rings of fire. Also with a DJ, the show ends with fireworks at midnight to bring 2019 in in style.
