Our Local’s Guide to Spring Après in Whistler

While Whistler is known for its world-class skiing and snowboarding, it’s also the North American mecca of lively après scenes that keep the good times rolling long after the lifts have closed.

From patios with stunning mountain views, delicious discounts on food, and a cozy pub with a roaring fire, to live music, DJs and dance floors – there’s no shortage of places to check out. Figuring out where to go is the hard part!

1. Best Happy Hour Deals

Head over to Pizzeria Antico on Main Street, Whistler’s only Neapolitan pizza restaurant, for one of the best Happy Hour specials served every day from 3–5 pm – enjoy 50% off all 18 taps of local BC craft beers and 50% off their woodfired Margherita Pizza. All dough, sauces, fior di latte, ricotta, bread and dolci are made in-house daily – you can thank us for the tip later!

If you’re more into steak, seafood, wine, bubbly and cocktails – you won’t want to miss Joe Fortes Après Hour on Sundial Place. While relatively new to Whistler, having opened its doors in September 2021, Joe Fortes has a long-standing history of serving as an award-winning Vancouver restaurant for over 35 years. Guests from around the world come to expect a dynamic culinary experience in this San Francisco-style seafood grill that always delivers more hospitality, variety and buzz. Nita Lake Lodge – Cure Lounge & Patio

For those in Creekside Village, we often rave about the tasty bites, comfort and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains that you can find at Nita Lake Lodge – Cure Lounge & Patio. In the spring, they will open their large outdoor patio where you can soak up the late afternoon sun or head inside and sit by their cozy fireplace, where you will still have fantastic views of the lake and mountains.

Happy hour runs daily from 2–4 pm, where you can save on all of their small share plates, burgers, flatbreads and nachos. There are several vegan options and delicious craft cocktails as well.

2. Live Music // Where to Dance

The Dublin Gate is Whistler’s one and only classic Irish pub. From 5–7 pm, Sunday-Friday, enjoy their happy hour menu of drink specials and catch an astounding array of live music! Longhorn

Situated right at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas, the patio at The Longhorn Saloon is the perfect spot to enjoy an après beverage where the live DJ music is always bumping. For those seeking more of a midday party scene, this is the place you’ll want to be. From champagne showers to the legendary Longhorn nachos, this iconic Whistler bar offers an experience you will never forget. As it tends to fill up quickly, reservations are recommended.

Dusty’s

Located at the base of the Creekside Gondola, Dusty’s offers mouthwatering food, arguably Whistler’s best Caesar, legendary après, and rockin’ live shows. With ample seating, inside and outside, you will always be close enough to the music but can head over to the makeshift shift dancefloor if you simply can’t stop those dancing feet. Dusty’s is open every day from 11 a.m. until late.

3. Caffeine & Refuel

Not everyone wants a pint and a dancefloor after a big day on the hill! Those looking for a calmer atmosphere where you can refuel with tea or coffee and a snack, head over to Lift Coffee Company, conveniently located near the base of the Whistler gondola. Enjoy a delicious coffee, grab a sandwich or snack and sit out on their expanded patio to rest your legs and recharge before your evening activities.

Peaked Pies

For those of you who have worked up quite a post-hill appetite, Peaked Pies brings the ultimate experience in Australian meat (and veggie!) pies, Artisan Coffee, and desserts. Locally owned and operated, everything is hand-made fresh daily. So dine in, take out, or grab a frozen pie to reheat back at your accommodation!
