April is the start of Spring, and with it brings an abundance of fun activities all around Whistler. We can’t pretend it’s not one of our favourite seasons. You can’t beat skiing through a winter wonderland in the morning and biking past a lake in the afternoon. But we all know that April can bring with it April showers. Culture

If you want to make the most of the rain and learn about Whistler’s culture, you have plenty of options. The Audain Art Museum showcases some of BC’s finest collections. You can enjoy contemporary artworks along with historical pieces and First Nations masks. You can learn all about Whistler’s history from when the resort first opened in 1966 to the 2010 Whistler Olympic games in Whistler Museum.  If you haven’t quite had your cultural fix, the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is the place for you. Enjoy a guided tour and learn about First Nations culture and history.

Go Outside Anyway

Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean you have to stay inside. Grab your most stylish raincoat and go outside and enjoy Whistler’s beautiful scenery. The valley trail offers 40km of paved paths connecting Green Lake to Cheakamus. You can dance in the rain but don’t worry, most of the trail is in the trees anyway so you’ll be undercover most of the way.
