Where is the Upper Village?
As we mentioned, the Upper Village is located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, with the village surrounding the new high-speed Blackcomb Gondola. The Upper Village is just a short walk from the Main Village via the Village Stroll, crossing over the beautiful Fitzsimmons creek that separates the two villages. The surrounding neighbourhood of the Upper Village is called the Benchlands, which is where our wonderful ski-in/out accommodations are located!
Ski-in/out on Blackcomb Mountain
One of the best features of staying in the Benchlands above the Upper Village is the incredible slopeside accommodations! We offer two wonderful ski-in/ski-out accommodations to choose from: The Aspens and Woodrun Lodge.
The Aspens is a great place to come home after another great day in the outdoor playground that is Whistler/Blackcomb. The Aspens feature one and two-bedroom condos, all with fully equipped kitchens, near the base of Blackcomb mountain. A year-round slopeside heated outdoor pool and hot tubs make this a great value for any couple or family wanting to experience Whistler to the fullest!
The Woodrun Lodge provides the perfect location for the ultimate family vacation, offering two and two-bedroom plus den condos with fully equipped kitchens. The lodge is situated near the base of Blackcomb Mountain, just a few short metres up the slope from the Blackcomb Gondola. The gorgeous slopeside pool and hot tub will make you want to spend starlit evenings outside with loved ones, taking in the beauty of the surrounding mountains.
Free Transit
One of the best benefits of staying in the Upper Village is the free transit that’s available. You can easily arrive in Whistler and leave your car parked the entire time! If you’re skiing, just ski-in/out from one of our favourite accommodations, and then in the evenings, enjoy the Free Shuttle that runs every ten minutes throughout the winter. If you want to spend an evening out in the Main Village, just grab the bus, and enjoy safe and free transit to and from the pubs! You can have a look at the schedule here.
Après in the Upper Village
The Upper Village truly has it all! Whether you want to ski straight from the ski hill to après or cook a nice dinner at home, you’ll never need to leave the Upper Village. Two of our favourite spots for après in Whistler happen to be in the Upper Village. The Fitz Pub’s tag line is The Coziest Pub in Whistler, and we couldn’t agree more! With the incredible staff, local beers, cocktails and ciders, you can keep the party going off the slopes at The Fitz. Our other favourite pub is Handlebar, serving up craft beers and delicious, New York-style pizza by the slice or take a whole pie home with you! Both spots are local’s hangouts, so you’ll definitely want to chat up the locals while you’re there!
If you’re not keen on going out and want to cook at your accommodation, you can easily shop online with our local grocery, Nesters Market, and have groceries & alcohol delivered to your accommodation. Just simply arrange access to the condo with the team at Whiski Jack, and your fridge can be full upon arrival! And don’t worry, if you forgot an essential item or two, there’s even a small grocery store in the Upper Village.
