Whistler Vacation for Romantic Couples

Whistler is known as a top spot for vacations revolving around sports and the outdoors, but it also happens to be one of the most romantic towns for couples to get away together. The epic scenery, culinary delights, and on and off-mountain activities will leave you with the question of not what to do, but how to do it all. To help you plan for your romantic vacation, we’ve curated the ideal itinerary for any couple visiting Whistler. We hope this takes some of the guesswork out of planning for you, so there’s more time spent enjoying your loved one!

1. Stay in the Heart of Whistler Village

If you want to make the most out of your vacation and be in the heart of it all, we highly recommend staying at the Village Gate House in the middle of Whistler Village. These accommodations are ideal for couples, offering studio and one-bedroom options, all with full kitchens and gas fireplaces. Some of the one-bedrooms even offer their own private hot tub, making for an ideal romantic accommodation. You can learn more by exploring the property here.

2. Groceries & Alcohol Delivered to Your Room

We can all imagine that moment when you open the door to your vacation accommodation. Excitement, curiosity, and the deep sigh that comes with knowing your vacation is really about to begin! Make the moment even better by walking into a kitchen stocked with groceries and alcohol for your stay. At Whiski Jack, we’re happy to help plan this for you to make your arrival that much more relaxing.

3. Ski & Snowboard Lessons

It’s generally acknowledged that it’s best not to learn new sports from your partner! If you’re new to skiing or snowboarding, or you just want to get orientated with the mountains more quickly, sign up for a couples private lessons with Whistler Blackcomb Snow School to expedite your fun on the mountain (and leave the coaching to someone else!).

4. Après

After an exhilarating day exploring Whistler Blackcomb on skis, take part in the famed après of Whistler Village. For couples, we highly recommend stepping apres up a notch and enjoying the romantic setting of Barefoot Bistro. You won’t regret indulging in a bottle of champagne and their delicious, west coast oysters.

5. Go Chase Waterfalls

Whistler is home to several jaw-dropping waterfalls, and visiting them in the winter adds an extra layer of magic. One of our favourite waterfalls to hike to in the winter is Alexandra Falls. You can conveniently rent snowshoes, as well as access the falls through Whistler Olympic Park in the Callaghan. You can find out more about rentals and the trails here.

6. Cocktails & Firepits

After your snowshoeing adventure to Alexandra Falls, head over to Nicklaus North Golf Club and cozy up by the fire pit at Table Nineteen overlooking Green Lake. Here you can not only enjoy some of the best views in Whistler but delicious appetizers and handcrafted cocktails. Table Nineteen continuously receives the award for best patio in Whistler, and this accolade isn’t exclusive to summer!

7. Restore & Relax

Whistler is home to an array of incredible spas and massage therapists. If this sounds like a treat you and your loved one would revel in, book an RMT massage at one of Whistler’s five-star hotels. The Fairmont and Four Seasons are both excellent options, as you’ll receive access to the pool, steam room, and more!

8. Heli-Skiing

Looking for the adventure of a lifetime? Treat yourself to an exciting adventure heli-skiing with one of Whistler’s premier heli-operators. This will be your chance to experience the backcountry of Whistler under the guidance of highly-trained guides, ski untouched powder, and enjoy the thrill of being shuttled up mountain peaks via helicopter. This is truly a bucket-list experience, and we highly recommend using Powder Mountain or Blackcomb Helicopters as your tour operator.
