Why we Love Whistler in the Fall

Fall is the most underrated time of the year to visit Whistler…there, we said it! As summer comes to an end and our thoughts begin to turn to non-stop shred and heavy snowfall, fall offers the perfect time for us to relax and recuperate. However, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing going on. Packed with festivals, activities and great deals on food and accommodation, fall is a great time to visit Whistler before the winter madness. Here are just a few of the reasons why.

#1 It’s quieter

For most of the year, Whistler is bustling with people from all over the world. However, during fall there are far less crowds, and we get to enjoy a little downtime before a wild winter season. This makes fall the best time to explore all that Whistler has to offer. With less queues for the gondola, less bikes in the parks, and less people on the trails, you can still enjoy all the summer activities, without the crowds. Plus, you won’t need to search for hours for a parking spot!

#2 The events

Although it’s not peak season, there’s never a dull moment! Fall is all about diversity- from cultural experiences and delicious festivals, to adrenaline-inducing adventures and infamous relay races. Including Cornucopia, Whistler Film Festival, and a whole season dedicated to arts and culture with Fall for Arts by Arts Whistler, this fall’s schedule is set to be more jam-packed than ever.

#3 The weather

Hiking, biking, running and zip lining are all a breeze in cooler temperatures. With a mix of rain and sun, during fall you can still enjoy all your favourite warm-weather activities –  minus the sweat. From October onwards, trees around Whistler turn to vibrant greens and golden browns that make for some stunning Instagram shots. With some of the best autumn leaves on show right in the village, you won’t even need to go far to get the perfect fall picture.

#4 Great dining deals
