Whistler is the ultimate family fun destination! From endless activities and fun events, you don’t have to go far to find something for everyone. In fact, one of the best family venues lies right in the heart of Whistler Village!

Built for the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler Olympic Plaza was the location of the daily medal ceremonies during the Winter Games. Today, the plaza carries the Olympic legacy on with the Olympic rings, Paralympic Agitos, commemorative athlete plaques, a special memorial for Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili and the original Olympic cauldron still gracing the venue. Whistler Olympic Plaza is also home to the Whistler Cenotaph, a memorial to Canadian war veterans.

During the summer, Whistler Olympic Plaza is home to a full calendar of fun events including Whistler Children’s Festival, Whistler Beer Festival, Whistler Outdoor Concert Series and more.

In the winter, Whistler Olympic Plaza turns into a winter wonderland that offers fun for the whole family. Most activities run through the winter and are free (a small fee for rentals if applicable).

Ice Skating

Open November 29, 2019 until late March 2020 (weather dependent)

Open 11am-8:30pm

Closed for Ice Maintenance 1:30-2:30pm, 5-6pm

Enjoy a leisurely ice skate right in the Village at Whistler Olympic Plaza. Admission is free and rental skates are available for $6. There are also push bars available for those learning how to skate.

Snow Zone

Every winter, the snow gets pushed around and piled up in the middle of the Olympic Plaza to create a huge mound for the kiddos to play on. Tunnels and slides are carved out of the hill making this a great spot to spend the afternoon or evening.
